Changelog:

New Weapon:

  • KS-23 M. First community weapon from September's contest. Currently only obtainable through the debug menu.

New Cosmetics:

  • #NotHank. One of the first community cosmetics. Currently only obtainable through the debug menu.
  • "Aim Here" Baseball Cap Variant. One of the first community cosmetics.

Mechanics:

  • Melee Rework:
    • Swapped from Area2D to ShapeCast2D for more precision and better control over timings.
    • Melee Aim is now locked during the attack, as well as flipping
    • Enemies get noticeably knocked back now
    • The character get's slowed down during the attack
    • The character get's boosted in the attack direction at the peak of the attack animation. This can be used to achieve great heights, especially if combined with the double-jump
    • Reworked all current melee weapon animations. Now they feel more powerful and exaggerated.
    • Attacks now happen in sequence (before if there were multiple attack animations for an attack type they would be chosen at random).
    • Changed attack types to be more consistent. LMB - Light and close attack. RMB - Heavy, slow and usually longer ranged attack.
    • Changed visuals of the attack/throw trail
    • Fixed the randomization of the attack sound not working
    • Melee Enemies now no longer have fear, they will rush an opponent all the time.
    • Melee Enemies now have chances to continue their attack, to go in a sequence. For example a lower tier pipe enemy has the chance set to low, so he'll usually only do one attack and then wait, while a higher tier knife-wielding enemy will continue his attacks more often.
    • Melee Weapons now have armor penetration parameters for each attack. For example the crowbar has the highest amount of armor pen out of all melee weapons currently.
  • Ammo Check System. You can now check how much  ammo you have left in the magazine by holding R, Tarkov style.

Visuals:

  • Added a Zoom Out effect when the player is wielding a firearm and it can't shoot/is reloading.
  • Implemented an Ambient Occlusion shader made by one and only https://filipex2000.itch.io/. It can be disabled in the settings menu.

Audio:

  • Added a sidechain effect that dampens Music and Ambiance volume when hitting an enemy or receiving damage. 
Engine & Editor (for 0.5 people that are going to unpack the game):

One small step for a build, one giant leap for modding in the future

  • Changed how Cosmetic Variants load. Now instead of the original cosmetic containing an array of all the variants, the variants themselves contain a path to the og cosmetic. This will allow people to make their own variants of already existing cosmetics while not conflicting with other variants.
  • Cosmetic Item Creator. This tool allows you (well currently only me since modding is yet to come) to make all the folders/resources/scenes/empty images/armor stats/preview the cosmetics in different lighting and backgrounds, without even touching the editor itself! Complex cosmetics like the cigarette do require you to use Godot ofc

Once i finish chapter 0 it will be released in to Early Access on Steam, yeah
