Finished A-EtY, new Physics Engine & Weapon Recoil Rework.
Changelog:
New Weapon:
- M249 SAW. Community weapon from November contest. Currently only obtainable through the debug menu.
New Cosmetics:
- Cleansuit Mask. Currently only obtainable through the debug menu.
- CRS Vest. Currently only obtainable through the debug menu.
Mechanics:
- A-EtY Know. This is the biggest A-EtY part out of all of them, also comes with upgrades to previous parts:
- A-EtY Feel Upgrades:
- Show's damage done to self
- Shows exact health number
- A-EtY See Upgrades:
- Shows ammo of guns
- Shows ammo of ammo packs
- Shows health of health kits
- Shows armor of armor pickups
- Shows the detonation time of a grenade
- Shows the stun, blind & damage radius of explosions
- Ammo & Weapon Display
- Enemy Health Display
- Map & Minimap
- A-EtY Feel Upgrades:
- A-EtY Menu (TAB). Currently used to display a full map, ammo display (shows the total amount of ammo the player has for each caliber, separating some if they're used by current weapons) and gives the player the ability to interact with the weapon inventory (swapping slots & dropping weapons, with a Tarkov-like info panel coming in the future)
- Made all campaign levels "minimap certified", meaning the levels will be properly displayed in it.
- Rapier2D Integration. This one is huge, as i always wanted to use some custom physics solution because the default one sucks ass. When i tried doing it before the project would break completely but this time it finally didn't, which allowed me to properly replace the physics engine. Now the physics object behave more like they're supposed to and it also increases performance in some places.
- Weapon Recoil Rework. Instead of having the spread increase to it’s maximum immediately after the first shot - now it slowly rises based on a curve and some other variables. In short - if you shoot for long amount of time the spread will be much bigger and will degrade back to minimum over time once you stop, so burst firing is more accurate now.
Performance:
- Optimized c0a2 in the Armory area. Before all the ammo racks and armor stands were real (yes, every little ammo pick up was a separate pickup object). Now they've been replaced with interactive Ammo Shelves that just replenish your missing ammo of certain calibers. Also empty armor stands were replaced by non-interactive props and their amount was decreased in general. Although the game still lags pretty bad in the second half of the level, right after you get the double jump.
- A-EtY See Controller's (the frame around pickups & dropped weapons) update time is now low, and becomes lower the further you are from an object.
Bugs & Tweaks:
- Grenades are no longer deleted from inventory when their ammo count becomes 0, only when you swap them for another type. This was made so that Supply Crates can drop grenades that you are missing.
